About the Alliance

The Colonial Academic Alliance was founded in 2002 by the provosts of the institutions of the Colonial Athletic Association.
Its membership includes: The College of William and Mary, Drexel University, George Mason University, Georgia State University, Hofstra University, James Madison University, Northeastern University, Old Dominion University, Towson University, University of Delaware, University of North Carolina at Wilmington, and Virginia Commonwealth University.
Competitors in the athletic arena, Alliance members are collaborators in the academic realm, committed to the benefits that can accrue from cooperative programs and resource sharing.
The Alliance is funded by dues from the member institutions and governed by the 12 provosts; its office is located on the campus of George Mason University.
